We are delighted to announce the winners of the 2nd edition of our ATEB Recognition Awards.

These Awards are established to recognize the talented, hard-working individuals and teams which make a difference. Not only to the companies they represent, but also to the Belgian Treasury community in general. We have again been able to identify 3 winners of this prestigious award, which shows that there is a lot of Treasury Excellence here in Belgium.

It is with great pleasure that we can confirm the 2020 Winners are…

– IKEA
– Remy Cointreau
– DEME Group

Congratulations!

IKEA

Those of you who have joined our summits, working groups and other events in the past, will remember the forward-thinking and agile approach this team has demonstrated. This is particularly the case when it comes to technology and digital, where they have set the standard for how a modern treasury infrastructure should operate. As it is often the case, larger multinational companies lead the way in most technology developments, but I believe nobody will disagree with me when I say that all of us, Treasury professionals, in whatever capacity or company we work for, can benefit from some of the treasury excellence this company has demonstrated. Well done, IKEA!

Remy Cointreau

For the 2nd Award, we are pleased to announce one of our long-standing members: Remy Cointreau. In one of our very last physical events before the pandemic, they presented a strong case on how treasury can support the company objectives to achieve sustainability, environmental and social responsibility goals. While their sustainability approach seems to have been the reason for this nomination, this company has been widely regarded as one of the more advanced treasury operations we have here in Belgium. They have demonstrated excellence in so many different ways over the years, covering all aspects of treasury. Congratulations, Remy Cointreau!

DEME Group

For our 3rd Award, we stay in the area of sustainability, but then looking at it from the core of this company’s operations. We also stay in Belgium this time, as this is the only Belgian-head quartered winner. Sustainability and environmental is indeed in this company’s DNA, but the nomination for this award was specific for the Treasury team’s evolution – or rather revolution – from disjointed and often manual processes into a much more automated and digitized treasury infrastructure. As the ATEB Board, we have recognized the team’s effort to establish an efficient and scalable system set-up. This recognition has not been the only win for this company in 2020, as we hear they also have been named Belgium’s most attractive employer. Well done, DEME Group!

And don’t forget about our 2021 Awards!

The registrations for the 2021 Recognition Awards are already open on our website, and will remain open for the rest of the year. We strongly encourage everyone to think of their peers and colleagues (and why not themselves!), and complete the nomination form. As you will see on the website, it really only takes a few clicks.
