Event Summary: Treasury Snapshots – Kinepolis & NATO (NCI Agency)

In the series of Snapshots, ATEB hosted a number of its corporate members on 12 September to learn more about the treasury organizations of Kinepolis and NATO.

Eline De Muynck, Group Treasury Manager at Kinepolis, gave an excellent overview of the specifics of treasury in the entertainment industry, where optimal use of cash and liquidity, capital investments and management of external factors (such as weather conditions and quality of film releases) are high on the agenda.

Next, Deniz Ates and his team walked through the treasury set-up at NATO, operating through its Communications and Information Agency (NCIA). Here the focus has been primarily on elevating the treasury function to a more professional level, and converting the function from a more administrative nature to a true business role. NCIA is one of the proud winners of the 2022 ATEB Recognition Award.

Although the impact of treasury in their respective companies is very different, this Snapshot session has – one again – highlighted the added value which treasury practioners in Belgium bring to their organizations. ATEB wants to thank Eline, Deniz and his team, and everyone who was present at the session for making this a succesful event.
